Engineering firm receives $400,000 in tax credits

This civil and structural engineering firm designs bridges, buildings and other structures. In one qualifying project, the company designed a building with its own water reclamation facility beneath an underground parking garage. Their design had to comply with stringent building codes to protect against earthquakes and other environmental factors. The city would not allow any water runoff, and the utility system was at capacity.Therefore, the building could not be connected to the city sewer system. The company modeled many different designs to land on one that met all environmental and code qualifications.
